OneJamii: Building a Digital Bridge for Grenada, the Diaspora, and the Global Black Community

OneJamii was created with a clear purpose: to connect, promote, and strengthen Black communities through culture, business, travel, and opportunity.

Our focus begins with Grenada and the Grenadian diaspora, but the vision reaches far beyond one island. OneJamii is designed to become a digital platform where Black-owned businesses, accommodation providers, entrepreneurs, creatives, event organizers, service providers, and community leaders can be discovered, supported, and celebrated locally and globally.

For Grenada, this mission is personal. Grenadians at home and abroad continue to play a major role in the island’s economy, culture, tourism, and development. Whether through travel, remittances, entrepreneurship, investment, family connections, or simply staying connected to home, the diaspora remains one of Grenada’s greatest strengths.

OneJamii was built to help organize that strength and turn community connection into real opportunity.

Starting with Accommodation in Grenada

One of the first major focuses of OneJamii is helping visitors find trusted accommodations in Grenada.

From apartments and villas to guesthouses, penthouses, family homes, and short-term rentals, OneJamii gives accommodation providers another way to reach travelers who are looking for a more personal and authentic Grenadian experience.

This is especially important during peak travel periods such as Spicemas, Christmas, school breaks, weddings, family reunions, and cultural events, when visitors are actively searching for places to stay.

For property owners and hosts in Grenada, OneJamii creates more visibility. For travelers, it creates easier access to local stays, trusted listings, and community-connected experiences.

More Than a Booking Platform

While accommodation is one of the starting points, OneJamii is much more than a place to find somewhere to stay.

The platform is being built to support a wider network of businesses and services, including restaurants, food vendors, transportation providers, tour guides, event promoters, real estate professionals, retail stores, health and wellness brands, local artisans, professional services, and Caribbean-owned businesses in the diaspora.

The goal is to create a trusted digital space where people can find, support, and promote businesses connected to Grenada, the Caribbean, Africa, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the wider Black diaspora.

Built from Real Community Experience

OneJamii is not just an idea. It comes from years of experience building businesses, promoting culture, supporting local entrepreneurs, and connecting the Caribbean with the diaspora.

Through JamiiFoods, we have seen firsthand how powerful Caribbean products can become when they are given the right visibility, branding, and community support. JamiiFoods connects Caribbean-sourced wellness products, including sea moss, with customers in Canada, the United States, and beyond.

That experience helped shape the bigger vision for OneJamii.

If a Caribbean product can reach people across borders, then Caribbean businesses, accommodations, services, events, and cultural experiences can also be promoted to a wider audience. OneJamii is the next step in that mission — creating one platform where community, commerce, culture, and travel can work together.

An Invitation to the Grenadian Diaspora

To the Grenadian community living abroad: OneJamii is an invitation to come on board early.

If you own a business, provide a service, host events, rent accommodations, sell products, create content, or support the Grenadian community in any way, OneJamii is being created with you in mind.

This platform is not only for businesses located in Grenada. It is also for Grenadians and Caribbean people in the diaspora who want to remain connected, visible, and supported by their own community.

Whether you are in Toronto, New York, London, Atlanta, Miami, Montreal, or anywhere else in the world, OneJamii gives you a place to be part of a growing network built around culture, business, travel, and community connection.

A Community-Driven Movement

OneJamii welcomes partnerships, collaboration, and support from all levels of the community. However, the heart of this platform is the people.

The true power of OneJamii comes from business owners listing their services, travelers using the platform, families sharing it with friends, event organizers promoting their events, and the diaspora choosing to support something built for the community.

This is about taking action.
This is about ownership.
This is about visibility.
This is about connection.
This is about creating opportunities for our people.

Rather than waiting for others to build the solution, OneJamii is focused on building a platform that gives our communities a stronger digital presence and a better way to connect with each other.

Why This Matters

Too often, Black-owned, Caribbean-owned, and Grenadian-owned businesses are difficult to find online. Many amazing local businesses depend only on word of mouth, WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook posts that disappear quickly.

OneJamii is working to change that.

By creating a searchable platform focused on culture, travel, business, accommodation, events, and community, OneJamii helps businesses become easier to find and easier to support.

For Grenada, this means more visibility for local entrepreneurs and property owners.
For the diaspora, it means a stronger connection to home.
For travelers, it means easier access to authentic experiences.
For the Black community, it means building a platform that reflects us, serves us, and grows with us.

The Bigger Vision

Grenada is the starting point, but OneJamii’s mission extends across the global Black community.

The long-term vision is to connect Black-owned businesses, Caribbean communities, African communities, and diaspora networks in one place. From travel and tourism to shopping, events, professional services, cultural content, accommodation, and business promotion, OneJamii is designed to become a digital home for community-powered commerce and connection.

This is not just an app.

It is a movement to help our communities become more visible, more connected, and more supported.
